In Africa, Kente cloth is made of narrow woven strips of brightly colored fabric. Then the strips are sewn together to make a larger fabric garment.
My project was to weave a one piece fabric, without having to sew sections together. With the help of my Weavepoint computer program, and the AVL loom, this was achieved. The colors are bright and vivid, and the squares of color and patterns are made with the shadow weave structure.
