This piece represents the dark side of the Moon, or, perhaps the dark side of the unknown in all of us. What does exist out there?
The weaving structure called Bedford Cord and is the fabric structure that the Earl of Bedford, in old England, used to dress and armor his soldiers. It is thick for protection, and warm for cold winter maneuvers. Here it gives a strong vertical line and texture.
This costume was attached to canvas and painted with acrylic paint and oil pastels. Added to the paint were bits of mica and glass beads to achieve a mysterious glow. And whose hand prints are those? And where are they leading us? Who knows, do you?
