This costume’s inspiration was the wing of the raven. From a distance, the bird appears all black, but upon close examination, there are many colors, often iridescent. To try to catch this feeling, I used a black warp that slowly moved across into blue. The weft was not a black, as I had originally planned, but when I used a dark blue, the colors began to “pop.” Leather strips and glass beads add to the shine.
