“THUNDERING EARTH”

This costume is a companion piece to one of my earliest costumes, which was called "Thundering Sky". Their common features are the feathers that are woven into the piece. They both have a Native American feel, but with different weave structures.

This piece is a combination of a twill and plain weave structure, with the twill diamonds spaced between plain weave vertical lines. The colored stripes are a space-dyed cotton, and the belt-like strips on the sleeves are woven on a belt or inkle loom. The brass ornament completes the costume.
